Shipping & Delivery Questions

SHIPPING UPDATES may now be found here.

Please email us ASAP if you have put the wrong address so we can see if we can change it before your order ships. If you let us know before your order has been shipped we will do ours best to change the address and no other actions will be needed.

If your order has been made and shipped already, your order will go out as it was entered.

We have a few options for you:

1. We can reship your order once we receive it back to our shop and then you will only have to pay for the shipping. We don't know how long it will take for the item(s) to make it back to us, but we will let you know once we have reshipped it to you.

2. We can reship your order to you ASAP at full cost of those items + shipping, unless this item is sold out/accounted for.

3. We can cancel your order and give you a full refund once it has arrived back to us (excluding the shipping fees).

Unfortunately, as a small business, we can't afford to reship items without these fees, but we never want anyone to have to pay if they are unable - that is why we offer the option for a full refund. We absolutely understand how easy it is to make these kinds of mistakes so we will do our best to work with you to get you your order in a way that works for you. Thank you for your understanding and support!

Any packages that are returned to us for an insufficient address without contact will be issued as a store credit to the customer, minus any shipping costs. Reshipping costs will be the responsibility of the customer.

If a package is sent to the incorrect address, and is not returned to us, it is out of our hands and Lit Haven is not be held responsible for any loss of product or return of cost + fees.

A standard timeframe without delays would look like 2-5 days to make your item, and standard shipping 3-5 business days.

However, our current processing and fulfillment times may be a separate timeframe from the shipping selection you make at checkout, due to potential delays related to supply line issues worldwide. At this time, if this issue occurs, we find items may take 1-2 weeks for completion before they ship.

We cannot give accurate shipping times due to USPS extended delays, but we do strive for the fastest shipping time frames we are able to give. If your items are delayed on our end prior to shipping, you will be contacted.

You will receive a notice once your package has been shipped. Please ensure that your email program is set to accept messages from hi@lithavenbooktique.com.

Please be patient, it is very common that packages are not scanned at varying points of their shipping journey. In this instance your tracking will show 'Pre-shipment' when it is actually on its way directly to you! If you haven't seen any movement in a week, please feel free to reach out and we can look into this further for you.

If you receive a damaged, defective or incorrect product, email us at help@lithavenbooktique.com immediately. Please provide your order number to us in the subject heading so that we may advise on the best course of action to correct the issue, along with any relevant photos.

Exchanges
Please triple check your cart before checkout, we can not accept returns or exchanges at this time other than for damaged or incorrect items.

Refunds
Refunds are evaluated on a case by case basis. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method or given a store credit. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.

All sales are final. If you accidentally ordered the incorrect product/size- please reach out within 48 hours of your purchase to customer service, help@lithavenbooktique.com, as we may be able to correct your order.

We work quickly to fulfill orders, so it is possible your order may have already been created before it reaches the 48 hour mark. If your order has shipped, we are unable to make any changes. If you received the wrong size (from what was initially ordered), we will most definitely send you the correct size! Reach out to our customer service team, help@lithavenbooktique.com, so that we can make this right for you!

Occassionally, we may be able to step outside of our policy, and offer you an exchange. In this case, we do require payment to cover the re-shipping fee, as well as the original item being sent back to our office (cost not covered by Lit Haven Booktique) but we will cover the cost of products.

When we ship your package, you will receive a tracking number via email.Once your package is out of our dropped off at the Postal Service, it's the responsibility of the Postal Service, and out of our hands.

If your package is showing as delivered, but you are not seeing your package, please double check your front porch, as well as check with your nearby neighbors, as your box may have accidentally been dropped off there.

If you do not receive your package, please reach out to your local USPS before sending an email to customer service.If they can confirm your package has beenlost, we do require that you file a claim in order for us to supply a replacement product. Once you have received confirmation of your lost package, and your claim is filed, please reach out to our customer service (help@lithavenbooktique.com), and we can get you set up with a store credit or a replacement product. For lost or stolen books or boxes, if we have enough stock left over to replace your box, we will gladly do so! We do require a payment to cover the re-shipping fee, but we will be covering the cost of products.

Please note, USPS requires a 30 day no-movement period before a claim can be filed. However, we do request communication within 10 days of your intended product reciept per your tracking in order to proceed.Lit Haven Booktique is not responsibleforstolenpackages and they will not be refunded or replaced. Please contact your local post office if this happens and coordinate with them on next steps. We recommend you file a help request form with the USPS. Once your package leaves us, it is out of our control and we can only go by the tracking details provided.

Shipping is based on the weight, volume and destination. To calculate your estimated shipping fees, add the items to your shopping cart, and then go to the shopping cart page. Enter your state and ZIP code. You will receive a quote of your shipping fees based on the items in your shopping cart.


Please note: We have tried our best to make shipping fees as affordable for all, regardless of location within the world. Unfortunately, shipping fees have recently risen worldwide, and to help offset this we do try to take on a portion of your shipping fee and offer free shipping opportunities when possible.

Yes, we do ship internationally. To check whether we ship to your region, feel free to reach out via our contact form, or see if your address is accepted during the check out process.

Books & Boxes VAT

VAT will not be charged on book only boxes as they won’t include any extra larger merchandise or VAT taxed items. The books are VAT exempt.

We are currently getting VAT approved to make sure we’re prepared to meet standards in the future, but for now you can purchase our boxes VAT free!

Merchandise VAT

Our VAT for merchandise is currently handled through our production company, but that will be updated to reflect once we have been approved.

Border Costs & Import Taxes

Border costs & import taxes will not be included in the order. Typically if there is an amount owed for this, you will be contacted by your country's custom's department by mail or phone. For the most part, printed matter is duty free!

When checking out, your shipping is based on the weight, volume and destination. To calculate your estimated shipping fees, add the items to your shopping cart, and then go to the shopping cart page. Enter your address information. You will receive a quote of your shipping fees based on the items in your shopping cart.

We understand this may not be the best option for you, and do also recommend using Stackry, a third party package forwarding service. Stackry does allow you to register for a free U.S. shipping address. This will be your private Stackry address in which you will purchase your items through us, ship to this address, and Stackry will reroute your package directly to you. This will hopefully allow you to save on international shipping!

Please note that import duties for International customers may possibly occur.

Lit Haven is not responsible for additional customs fees upon receipt of your package. These charges are sometimes observed for shipments outside of the USA. Please check with your customs office to properly understand additional charges that may occur.

Once your box or order has shipped, this package is no longer in our hands. If the package is returned to us due to lack of payment of VAT/Customs, the customer is responsible for reshipment, and no refunds will be provided.

Due to COVID-19 and other factors currently slowing delivery times, please allow up to 3-6 weeks for delivery after shipment has been made.

Merchandise Questions

Our Items are made with a direct-to-garment (DTG) printing technology, it uses high-quality inks that won't fade for a long time if taken care of properly.

Keep in mind that the original manufacturer's care instructions don't take into consideration the DTG printing process. So we suggest following the care instructions here to learn how to take care of your printed garments properly.

Printed apparel can be machine-washed cold, inside-out on a gentle cycle with a mild detergent and like colors. Use non-chlorine bleach only when necessary. You shouldn't use any fabric softeners or dry-clean the items.

DTG-printed apparel can be tumble-dried on a low cycle, but hang-dry works best. When it comes to ironing, use cool iron inside-out. Don't iron the print.

Follow these instructions carefully to avoid fading and cracking of the print, and shrinking the garment that can occur if you wash or dry it on a high setting.

As mood readers, we find this often carries over into our apparel and merchandise choices as well.

You will see a broad range of design styles in our shop, from minimalistic type and line art, to retro designs, and onto designs with edgy vibes.We strive to provide styles for each of your moods–and for every type of reader, book blogger, and writer out there to love.

Our stickers ship from a different location than our other merch, so they will arrive separately! If you have any questions on when your stickers should arrive or wish to request more information feel free to email us at help@lithavenbooktique.com

Yes! Our stickers are made to be waterproof. You can put them in the dishwasher on your favorite tumbler or water bottle with confidence. If you encounter any issues with your stickers due to water please email us at help@lithavenbooktique.com

Book & Box Questions

Waiting List

No, you do not have to join the waiting list. However, we highly encourage it!

Our preorders are FCFS. We anticipate being able to fulfill as many spots as possible, but if an instance for a preorder limit arises due to a very high influx, the waitlist will be served first.

Not only will joining the list guarantee you receive a 10% off code towards your order by joining the list prior to the preorder going live, but you will also receive day early access to purchase, and a free mystery item within your order.

Waiting list members up to #200 on each list will receive a surprise perk. You may move up the waitlist by sharing your designated link which you can find by logging into your lithaven.com website account and selecting the product page you are on the waiting list for. You will be able to check your position on the waiting list and copy your link here.

Additionally, when we move from preorders to a subscription basis, all customers who have joined a waiting list at any time prior will recieve first access to sign up.

No, we are currently preorder based only.

However, when we move from preorders to a subscription basis all customers who have joined any Waiting Lists prior to that time will recieve first access to sign up.

We do our best to accomodate as many orders as possible, however we can't say this will never happen.

In the event this occurs, customers on the waitlist will be given the opportunity to purchase in numerical order. These will be done in phases. If a customer chooses not to purchase at that time, the opportunity will then go to the next customer on the list.

ex. Brittani is on the waitlist for Helfyre but decides she doesn't want it at the time she is given opportunity to purchase, so she skips it. We go to the Helfyre waitlist and give the first person on the list a chance to buy Brittani's Helfyre preorder. If that person doesn't want it, we go to #2, and so on.

Once a book is purchased from Lit Haven Booktique, it fully belongs to you. We are readers first, and these are considered collectors edition books. We understand and support buy/sell/trade and it is not our place to decide or control what you do with your book once it leaves our hands. We're all here for the love of books, let's keep it that way!

Additionally, tattling or shaming a reader for the reselling of our books in our group, or elsewhere, at any point will not be permitted or tolerated.

Please include your current email on file for the Waiting List, the updated email address, and what Waiting List you have joined, and we will be happy to help!

For bumped corners or edges of spine:
Please attempt to flatten with your hands as this is considered normal wear and tear and it is possible for this to be fixed on your own most of the time.

The Following DO qualify for book damages:

  • Cut
  • Dirty or Sticky residue that can’t be removed
  • Stained or discolored
  • Parts/Pages missing
  • Plastic cases cracked
  • Punctured
  • Spine split in half
  • Torn – piece missing (not hangnails)
  • Water Damaged
  • Creased dust jackets meeting the above damage criteria that cannot be fixed by refolding, smoothing out, and applying weight to set the adjusted folds.
  • Very blurry stencil sprayed edges
  • Stencil/digital edges more than 3mm off-centre


The following DO NOT qualify as book damages:

  • Light Scratches
  • Shelf wear – minor dulling & fading
  • Wrinkles – minor on a paperback spine
  • Hardback Jacket – minimal creasing
  • White spots – small areas the color has rubbed off
  • Shiny spots – this primarily applies to minor or normal wear on soft touch/matte cases
  • Wavy pages
  • Dust jackets that are slightly loose
  • Stencil/digital sprayed edges that have a slight blur
  • Minor scuffing on the edge
  • Stencil/digital edges less than 3mm off-centre


Please keep in mind that the criteria listed is for guidance purposes and each claim will be reviewed manually on a case by case basis. Please note that blemishes to packaging or damaged packaging for the items will not be considered part of a damaged item if the item itself is okay.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it.
If your book has hand-painted edges and arrives damaged, we will discuss your options upon contact and approval. These may be handled differently due to availability and extent of damages.

All items with Featured authors are non-refundable. This includes book boxes and featured book + items.

No, some collectors editions will not include dust jackets!

You may find double-sided dust jackets on our Signature Edition books.

Yes, we absolutely will have exclusive covers on all of our collectors editions.

We believe in bringing something new to readers shelves, while simultaniously helping boost an author. We feel providing the same cover edition could potentially impede on an authors print sales even if it includes special print treatments.

In the event an author would like to include their books with special print treatments on their normal or alt version covers, we would be happy to work to find a way to help them provide this, however it would not be a Lit Haven collectors edition.

Yes! We will always show the cover of a book before purchasing a special edition from us unless it's a surprise event.

We will always aim to complete a series at some point, however many factors affect whether this is possible.

Including but not limited to, author approval, exclusivity contracts the authors may currently hold with other boxes, our capabilities for shipping, and demand.

If you miss, or can't purchase during a sale, we can not guarantee there will be a reprint or an option to purchase at a later date.

We will not have any pre-planned reprints, and there will be no plans for extras. Any extra's that may be available on our site will be scratch & dent prints or overs we no longer need to accomodate for any potential exchanges from damaged shipments. It will depend on demand, our capabilities at that time, and author approval first and foremost.
